この「ふくら」は、小国和紙を使用した縁起物です。
小国和紙は、楮（こうぞ）の長く強靭な繊維から作られており、
その特長である「しなやかで破れにくい」という性質に、

桜の花が咲く春（大願成就）まで、まっしぐらに突き進む力となるように
願いを込めました。

受験当日は、扇を枠から取り外して鞄に入れ、お守りとして持ち運ぶことが可能です。
台紙から取り外すと、帯の裏側にメッセージが記されていて、
受験生のこれまでの努力を称え、本番を後押ししてくれることでしょう。
また、合格後は帯を外して通常の扇として楽しむことができます。

越後「小国和紙」の手漉き和紙が原料

新潟県長岡市小国町は雪の多い年は３m以上積もる豪雪地域。「小国和紙」は、冬の副業として江戸時代から作られてきました。100％楮（こうぞ）を原料として、繊維が長くたいへん丈夫なことが特長の和紙です。新潟県で有名な白根の大凧合戦の和紙として、また新潟県長岡市の有名な酒蔵のラベルなどにも使われています。
その原料の和紙をひとつひとつ型で成型して作られる手づくりの商品です。
